Rebecca Maynard
Rebecca picked up a paintbrush in November of 2013 and she will never put it down. She is completely fascinated by how unexpected life events can take you down paths you never imagined. She has an insatiable desire to learn and paint as much as she can.
Rebecca Maynard is one of Pittsford Fine Art’s founding members. She’s a member of the Rochester Art Club, the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society, the Brockport Artists’ Guild, and the Oil Painters of America. She has had paintings in the AC, NFWS (Board of Director’s Award), and BAG shows and has had paintings in several local galleries and the View in Old Forge. Rebecca does commission work, and a variety of workshops and demos. She has participated in the Memorial Art Gallery’s Clothesline Festival.
“I feel so fortunate to see beauty in so many places.” says Rebecca. “I have always seen gems in nature, but now, I capture those bits of beauty I see and share them with others. To do this I use watercolor, oil, alcohol ink, charcoal, and acrylics. I also enjoy photography, which provides me with endless reference material. I love shifting from one medium to another. One informs the other and it helps me keep things fresh and exciting.”
