Mark Stash
Mark Stash has had a great respect and love for the outdoors his entire life. He strives to capture the emotion he feels while experiencing nature through the mediums of acrylic, oil and watercolor paints.
After receiving a degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Mark’s art career began with Highlights for Children magazine, where he honed his design, layout and illustration skills. Since then, he has enjoyed a successful career in the world of magazine and print publishing. In 2001 he created Life in the Finger Lakes magazine with his business partner, and the magazine is still popular and is published today.
During Mark’s graphic arts career, he has also been working on his fine art skills by sketching and painting what he observes in nature. He has been part of the Naples Open Studio Trail since 2011, and the experience of painting for a yearly show has encouraged Mark to be productive by painting throughout the year.
“When I started painting, my style was more realistic,” states Mark. “Since then, I have experimented with different techniques and am currently developing a looser, more painterly way of applying paint to canvas. The works of Van Gogh, Monet and Erin Hanson have influenced my work in recent years.”
